Nick Zoulek – Sax, Flute
Currently in his senior year of study as a B.M. Music Performance major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Nick Zoulek is an avid performer, clinician, and private teacher. As a saxophone instructor, Nick teaches at Voigt Music Center-Beloit, Voigt Music Center-Janesville, and privately in Whitewater and Menomonee Falls. Along with his private teaching, Nick is also a member of the private instructor faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater band camps, which allows him to reach students from various cities and states across the mid-west. As a guest clinician, Nick has worked closely with jazz ensembles, combos, and concert band groups from the FJ Turner School District, Beloit Memorial High School, and Whitewater School District.
As a classical saxophonist, Nick has performed as a featured soloist with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Orchestra and has been featured on tour with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Symphonic Wind Ensemble in the Spring 2009 season. Nick has also performed for world renowned saxophonists such as Eugene Rousseau and Jean Marie Londeix. As a jazz saxophonist, Nick has performed across southern Wisconsin at venues such as The Jazz Estate, Piano Blu, Gilbert's, The Red Geranium, and the Rathskeller. He is the recipient of various awards and scholarships, including the Raymond E. and Zenobia R. Light award, the Dahle award, two time winner of the Gieryn Jazz Talent scholarship, two time winner of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Concerto Competition,and recipient of grants from the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.
